As a photographer, the opportunity to capture life’s most important images is one of the biggest honors I am given. Whether it’s photographing a couple’s wedding or portraits for a family it is an honor that I not only take seriously, but also enjoy bringing a lot of fun and ease to. My approach to every wedding and each portrait session is the same; provide a small bit of guidance and then allow you to have your moments that create the natural expressions and photographs that are not only beautiful but authentic and meaningful to you.
I began my career in photography while studying art at Bridgewater State University and continued at Hallmark Institute of Photography where I graduated with top honors having the highest scoring portfolio. After graduating from Hallmark “dzp” was born specializing in wedding, engagement and all types of family portraiture. With almost 10 years of photographing professionally, I have had some incredible opportunities to work with so many amazing couples, families, and new friends. A few fun facts about Derrick
I am a huge (HUGE) fan of two musical legends; Elvis Presley and Will Smith. It is also my opinion that a minimum of 1 song by each of these legends should be mandatory at all weddings ;)
When I have been asked, “if you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?” My answer: A professional golfer.
However, when asked “what would you like to be since you are not good enough to be a professional golfer?” My answer: I would like to be a photographer
I am a cookie connoisseur. Homemade, store-bought, I do not discriminate…just no raisins. No. Raisins.

During our planning meeting he took many notes, asked about lots of details, and most importantly listened to what I was looking for. We had been referred to him by family and already knew he took beautiful photographs, but we were completely in awe of what he was able to capture on our wedding day.
